Steam Play Proton 5.0-7 officially released

  Valve Corporation, together with CodeWeavers, continues to improve Proton, which is based on the experience of the Wine project and is aimed aims to run on Linux games created for Windows and presented on the Steam store.
  Proton includes the implementation of DirectX 9/10/11 (based on the combined projects D9VK and DXVK) and DirectX 12 (based on VKD3D), working through the translation of DirectX calls to the Vulkan API, provides improved support for game controllers and the ability to use full-screen mode regardless Screen resolutions supported in games. The project also includes many patches, such as WINEESYNC, FSYNC and others.

  Proton 5.0-7 follows a short period of testing Release Candidate, because now, before the full release, releases are publicly tested.

  • Street Fighter 5 and Streets of Rage 4 are now playable.
  • Update DXVK to v1.6.1.
  • Fixes for sound in TrackMania Nations Forever, TrackMania Ultimate Forever, and Zusi 3 Aerosoft.
  • Fix crash in Plebby Quest: The Crusades.
  • Fix connecting to Gearbox SHiFT in Borderlands 3.
  • Grand Theft Auto 4 is now playable.
  • Updates to vkd3d to improve Direct3D 12 compatibility and performance.
  • Improve developer debugging experience.
